Baby H Turns 1 | a first birthday party

What happens when a cute little boy turns one and is given a cake with ocean-blue icing? Keep reading to find out. :) If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you may remember little Baby H from when I took a few photos right after he was born. He has been busy growing and getting even cuter, and this summer he turned one. His parents threw him the most adorable, pinterest-worthy surf-themed party to celebrate. I think the food was so cute- beach umbrella cupcakes, flip-flop cookies, and gummy bears in life rafts in ocean blue jello. But, the cake smash was the best.

Time to let the games begin! Let the cake smashing commence.

"Hmm, what is this stuff? I wonder if I can eat it."

"Oh yes, this tastes pretty good."

Scenes of Christmas

Scenes of Christmas | Emily Margaret Photography

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and is enjoying winter break! I'm doing a bit of rearranging of the blog, so don't be surprised if it looks different. If you'll notice down in the sidebar, you can now add me to your circles and follow via Google+ as well as by email, twitter, and bloglovin!  I've also added a contact form to the "Contact Me" page to make it easy to send questions and comments. Don't be shy, say hello! :) Anyway, here are some scenes of Christmas Eve + Christmas Day.

Now nobody freak out, this isn't an engagement ring. It's a ring from my great-grandmother that has been passed down to my sister. I thought I'd do some ring shots, you know, for practice. :)

We were lucky to have an appearance from Mr. Clark Kent himself on Christmas Eve.

Pie + Puppies

Apple pie and fluffy, adorable, puppies.

What could be better on a Sunday afternoon?

Maybe apple pie and ice cream?

This is Gracie and Jack, my Aunt and Uncle's Golden Doodles.

And yes, Jack is a Golden Doodle, even if he isn't golden.

But he sure knows how to pose for the camera. He'll sit still and just stare at the camera for you. One of the best dogs I've ever photographed!

Gracie, the golden Golden Doodle, is a rambunctious, energetic, sweet puppy, who knows how to pose for the camera just like Jack. Aren't they the cutest?
